Therapy and Wellbeing Lead/Speech Language and Communication Lead:

Selina Selina Wightman

  • Joined Acorn Park School in November 2020
  • Worked in the NHS as a Highly Specialist Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist for 21 years
  • Worked with adults with autism spectrum and mental health presentations for 4 years
  • Dysphagia trained Therapist
  • Associate Tutor for the University of East Anglia
  • Leadership qualification
  • Positive Behaviour Support Coach
  • ELKLAN Tutor

My aim is to work collaboratively with school staff and provide therapy support in an integrated and streamlined way in order to address the needs of the children and build on their independence and self-confidence.

 

Speech and Language Therapist

Joanna Hemmington

  • Joined Acorn Park School in June 2021
  • Worked in NHS as a Speech and Language Therapist for 3 years in Clinic and Mainstream Schools
  • Worked with children with Complex Health Needs for 12 years
  • Palin PCI (stammering) trained
  • Training to become a Practice Educator

My aim to support the children within a person-centred approach, working within a multi-disciplinary team of therapists and education staff, in order for them to feel empowered and reach their full potential.

 

Speech and Language Therapist

Jessica Armon

  • Joined Acorn Park in August 2020

I have taken every opportunity to develop my therapeutic skills and improve service quality. I collaborate with education and residential staff to maximise the communication environment for the children and young people and I deliver specialist intervention for those students with identified speech, language and communication needs.

 

Lead Occupational Therapist and Wellbeing Co-Ordinator

Simon Pearce

  • Joined Acorn Park in November 2021
  • Qualified in 1999
  • Practised in Primary care, Neuro Rehabilitation, Learning Disabilities and adult secure services
  • Qualified Sensory Practitioner
  • Positive Behaviour Support coach

My real passion is helping people learn new skills and develop their potential for independence.  I am a great believer in the value of occupational therapy but have seen my best results when working collaboratively with other therapies and disciplines in a student-centred way.

 

Senior Psychotherapist

Chloe Moul

  • Master’s qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor
  • Previously worked in the youth support sector for over 15 years and have vast experience in running various education and wellbeing programmes for young people in schools or charity settings. Many of these programmes are aimed at helping young people find their voice, and overcome barriers that they feel are holding them back so they can thrive in their communities.

I have a real passion for helping children and adolescents focus on their well-being and mental health and supporting them to gain a better understanding of the world and their place in it.

 

Health Care and Therapies Assistant

Tracey Moore

  • Joined Acorn Park School in November 2021
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care. I have studied: Psychology, Social Psychology, Research Methods, Theory and Practice
  • Experience in the care sector over the last 10 years working predominantly in the elderly care sector and skills and knowledge in medication, first aid, and risk assessment.

I am a member of the multi-disciplinary team supporting the delivery of high quality educational and clinical provisions across the site.

I have a passion to succeed in this role and help children and young people to feel healthy and lead happy lives.
